Optional Visual Upgrade

Sodium + Iris + Complementary Unbound

Not Required

Netherite Realms works normally without mods. If you want smoother rendering and enhanced lighting, shadows, water, skies, and atmosphere, we recommend the optional setup below.

Step 1

Install Iris + Sodium

The Iris installer can install both Iris and Sodium together. Choose Minecraft 1.21.11 in the installer and create the installation.

Get Iris
Step 2

Get Complementary Unbound

Download Complementary Unbound, then place or select it as your shader pack from Minecraft's shader settings after launching with Iris.

Get Complementary
Step 3

Tune for Your PC

Start with a moderate shader profile and increase quality only if performance remains comfortable. Complementary includes profiles ranging from lightweight to high-end settings.

Performance Guidance

Suggested Hardware for Shaders

These are practical Netherite Realms recommendations, not requirements for joining the server.

Without Shaders

Standard Play

Use the settings that run Minecraft Java comfortably on your system. Sodium is optional and may improve rendering performance even when shaders are disabled.

Recommended Starting Point

1080p Shaders

  • Modern 6-core CPU or better
  • 16 GB system RAM
  • Dedicated graphics card
  • 6 GB or more graphics memory preferred
  • Begin with a Medium-style shader profile
Higher Settings

High / Ultra Visuals

Higher render distances, resolutions, and shader presets can increase GPU load substantially. Reduce shadow quality, render distance, or the shader profile first if frame rate becomes unstable.
